Operation Masters Of Disasters (OMOD)©

OMOD is a 4-hour* emergency preparedness exercise designed for healthcare providers, first responders, volunteers, citizens, and anyone interested in understanding the roles and responsibilities of responding agencies during a disaster. The program can be extended to 5 or 6 hours to provide a more comprehensive learning experience.

Front-Loading Participants with Information

Participants start with facilitated learning of examples of current US disaster response policies and procedures, review of historical disaster events, and areas for improvement upon response concepts and techniques.

Front-Loading Participants with Information

Front-Loading Participants with Information

Participants prepare for the simulation by representing 1 of 7 national, state, or local response agencies during the simulation. Prep includes job action sheets, span of control, and incident command system setup.

Participate in Simulation

Front-Loading Participants with Information

Participate in Simulation

Participants design, experiment with, and implement newly presented concepts while responding to a simulated disaster in a table-top exercise. Facilitated challenges, rewards, and consequences to actions and  decisions keep the simulation unique and interactive.

Debrief and Resources

Front-Loading Participants with Information

Participate in Simulation

Participants regroup to discuss how the simulation progressed, how unique agency challenges and successes affected the outcomes, and identify potential improvements for future responses. Resources for further learning are provided upon request.

2 Purchase Options Available

Kinetic Simulations offers either in-person facilitation of OMOD* or the option of purchasing an all-inclusive OMOD kit, complete with everything you need to facilitate the entire simulation, including a facilitator guide and training session.

* Mileage costs (current federal mileage rate applies) for trips over 40 miles (one way) from Aurora, Colorado. A per-student fee will be added for groups with more than 35 participants. An additional fee will be added for options to extend the course to 5 or 6 hours. If hosting is needed outside of Colorado or is more than a 2 hour drive (one way), a price quote will be provided to include round-trip airfare and or 1 night stay at a local hotel, per day. Maximum of 2 simulations can be run in one day with a minimum of 1.5 hour break between simulations..

^ Kinetic Simulations will provide everything needed to facilitate OMOD, but will need 1 presentation room to comfortably hold all participants. A projection device (projector or large TV's) is required to display a PowerPoint presentation.  Six additional breakout rooms (must be in close proximity to large room and are needed for 1.5 hrs) equipped with enough chairs for participants, a table, and if possible a white board or large writing surface to run the simulation.
