OMOD is a 4-hour emergency preparedness exercise designed for healthcare providers, first responders, volunteers, citizens, and anyone interested in understanding the roles and responsibilities of responding agencies during a disaster. The program can be extended to 5 or 6 hours to provide a more comprehensive learning experience.

Participants start with facilitated learning of examples of current US disaster response policies and procedures, review of historical disaster events, and areas for improvement upon response concepts and techniques.

Participants prepare for the simulation by representing 1 of 7 national, state, or local response agencies during the simulation. Prep includes job action sheets, span of control, and incident command system setup.

Participants design, experiment with, and implement newly presented concepts while responding to a simulated disaster in a table-top exercise. Facilitated challenges, rewards, and consequences to actions and decisions keep the simulation unique and interactive.

Participants regroup to discuss how the simulation progressed, how unique agency challenges and successes affected the outcomes, and identify potential improvements for future responses. Resources for further learning are provided upon request.
Kinetic Simulations offers either in-person facilitation of OMOD or the option of purchasing an all-inclusive OMOD kit, complete with everything you need to facilitate the entire simulation, including a facilitator guide and training session.
